Captain Ellie Blackburn, Kirsty Lamb and Bonnie Toogood have been recognised for their consistency and efforts this season, all nominated for the 2022 AFLW AFLPA’s Most Valuable Player award.

It comes after the three were also included in the AFLW All Australian squad of 40 players last week.

Blackburn is also a nominee for the Best Captain award – having claimed it last year - while Lamb has been nominated for the Most Courageous player.

Draftee Elizabeth Snell will be up for the Best First-Year Player award.

Voting for the AFLW MVP, Most Courageous, Best First-Year Player and Best Captain awards is a two-stage process, with players nominating their teammates in stage one before selecting from a competition-wide field in stage two.

Players cannot vote for a player from their own club during stage two of the voting process.

The AFLPA will recognise the award-winners in conjunction with Channel 7’s The Front Bar on Wednesday 6 April.
