Western Bulldogs trio Ellie Blackburn, Kirsty Lamb and Bonnie Toogood have been named in the 2022 AFLW All Australian squad of 40 players.
It is the first time both Lamb and Toogood have been included in the squad, following impressive 2022 campaigns, and a sixth straight selection for Blackburn – who has not missed since the competition’s inception in 2017.
Of the six times she has been nominated, the Bulldogs’ skipper has made the final team on three occasions (2017, 2018, and 2021).
Blackburn led by example this season, averaging 20.1 disposals and 3.1 clearances, and was named among the best on ground in all 10 matches, highlighting her consistency.
Lamb was lauded for her impact in the midfield, averaging 18.7 touches, 3.9 clearances and 3.4 tackles.
Toogood was a shining light up forward, finishing her campaign with 10 majors, while averaging 3.5 marks and 3.7 score involvements.
The final AFLW All Australian team of 21, including a captain and vice-captain, will be announced at the W Awards on the evening of Tuesday 5 April.
