Scans today confirmed defender Easton Wood will be sidelined for three weeks after suffering a grade one hamstring tear in Friday night’s clash against Collingwood.

Wood was influential throughout three quarters against the Magpies with 19 possessions, 5 inside 50s and finishing off with a remarkable goal before the injury saw his premature removal from the game.

“Unfortunately in the third quarter [against Collingwood] Easton has done a grade 1 hamstring, confirmed today with a scan and he will miss three weeks,” Western Bulldogs Medical Services Manager Andrew McKenzie told BulldogsTV.

Young Jason Tutt has also been dealt another blow playing for Bulldogs’ VFL affiliate Williamstown with scans confirming he has suffered a mild MCL strain and will be restricted to the sidelines for another four weeks.

“[Tutt] has had a bad start to the year… he had a player run across his leg and scans have also confirmed that he has a mild MCL strain but he will at least miss four weeks,” McKenzie said.

In positive news from the medical room, McKenzie indicated Lukas Markovic (hamstring) and Christian Howard (knee) are likely to be in the selection mix for Sunday’s match against North Melbourne, subject to clearing fitness tests later this week.

Meanwhile, rookie Jason Johannisen’s is likely to only spend five weeks on the side line after incurring a knee injury in last week’s VFL clash, with scans last week revealing his medial ligament strain was less severe than initially expected.
