Collingwood have proved too strong at Victoria Park, defeating the Western Bulldogs by 25-points on Sunday afternoon.
Despite a promising start, the Pies led at every change to put a dent in the finals hopes of the visitors, winning 10.6 (66) to 6.5 (41).
Kirsty Lamb was prevalent again with 21 touches and a goal, while Ellie Blackburn battled away in the midfield to collect 19 touches and two goals.
Celine Moody continued her breakout season, working hard around the ground and managing 12 disposals and 19 hit-outs.
In their seventh game in 30 days, the Bulldogs couldn’t maintain scoreboard pressure throughout the contest, with Collingwood’s Jaimee Lambert breaking the game open with three goals in the third term.
Lamb opened the scoring with a clever snap from the pocket, before the home team on three first quarter goals.
When Nell Morris-Dalton converted from close range deep into the second term the Bulldogs hit the lead, however from then on it was all Collingwood.
Two second half goals from skipper Blackburn was a highlight, but tired legs and a strong Collingwood midfield proved too strong.
Deanna Berry made a successful comeback from an ACL injury in a season highlight for the Dogs. The 23-year-old had six touches in her return fixture and showed flashes of brilliance throughout.
The league also celebrated Indigenous Round, with the Bulldogs sporting a specially-designed jumper and colourful boots decorated in Indigenous art.
The Bulldogs must win their final two games to be any chance of making the finals in season 2022.
