The Western Bulldogs’ commitment to supporting diversity, inclusion and progression features in the design of the Club’s 2022 AFLW Pride guernsey.
Designed by Natalie Gills, the Bulldogs’ Pride jumper highlights the progress pride flag, intertwined with the famous red, white and blue colours, in place of the traditional hoops.
It is the fifth straight year the Club has, alongside on-field rivals Carlton, worn specially designed guernseys in an annual match dedicated to celebrating the LGBTIQA+ community.
The Bulldogs and Blues established the Pride Game concept in 2018, in the second season of AFLW, and it has since grown to become a dedicated league-wide round of matches.
The Club has worked closely with the Bulldog Pride Supporter Group to create the marquee fixture, which has become one of the most anticipated VU Whitten Oval game day events in the AFLW calendar.
Bulldog Pride was established as an official Club supporter group four years ago, and aims to create a space where LGBTIQA+ Bulldogs supporters, their family and friends can come together and enjoy the footy in a safe environment. The group can be found on social media via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Bulldog fans can get their hands on a signed 2022 Pride guernsey by participating in the Club’s online auction.
There will also be a range of Pride merchandise available for purchase from the Bulldog Shop from later this week.
Tickets for Sunday’s AFLW Pride Round game between the Bulldogs and Blues at VU Whitten Oval are on sale now via Ticketmaster.
