Western Bulldogs winger Lachie Hunter says he is confident the group will return to the winning footy they had been playing earlier this season.

A narrow two-point loss to Port Adelaide on Friday night means the Bulldogs will have to wait for the results of other games this round to determine who they’ll face in week one of the finals.

They currently sit in fourth spot on the ladder ahead of Saturday’s games. 

Hunter said the group knows their capabilities, and will be ready for the next challenge. 

“We’ve got to move on pretty quick – we don’t know where we’ll be playing next week, but (we know) we’ll definitely have a game,” Hunter said post-match.

“I think the group is pretty much ready at the door for wherever we’ll have to play.

“We’ve had that (ability) the whole year, but we’ve probably just been missing it this month - we obviously know we can match it with those top sides.”

Hunter also had a message for the Bulldogs faithful watching on in lockdown.

“We were actually talking pre-game about how nice tonight would’ve been with fans - it would’ve been a packed Marvel Stadium with all of our supporters here,” he said.

“I just want to say thank you – I know it’s tough in lockdown, but I hope you’re all doing alright.

“Apologies we couldn’t get the win tonight, but hopefully there’s a really good finals series ahead to watch so stick with us.”
