The AFLPA has launched its Indigenous Player Map for 2024, ahead of Sir Doug Nicholls Round and National Reconciliation Week.
The map showcases the 57 language groups of 70 AFL and 21 AFLW players, celebrating the cultural diversity of both cohorts.
First launched in 2006, and updated annually, the map aims to educate the football community and wider public on the various language and cultural groups represented within the AFL and AFLW competitions.
Sir Doug Nicholls Round runs across Round 10 (16 – 19 May) and Round 11 (23 – 26 May) and will be the 18th year the AFL industry has had a dedicated Indigenous Round.
National Reconciliation Week runs from 27 May – 3 June, providing a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to explore how we can all contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
