Elite footy is coming soon to Footscray and there will be so much to see, do and enjoy on gamedays at the new and improved Mission Whitten Oval.

While a new-look Western Bulldogs side will be kicking goals on-field, there will be just as much excitement happening off-field too. Here’s what you can expect.

Welcome back to Mission Whitten Oval

The Mission Whitten Oval precinct is a venue built by and for its community. We are enriched by the diverse people of the area and are proud to welcome people of all sexualities, genders, pronouns, identities and cultures. 

Enjoy the game from the hill or take a seat in the newly refurbished EJ Whitten Stand, with unparalleled views of the field and city.

There are two playgrounds on site – one of them sitting just inside the Barkly St gate – for younger Pups to enjoy, while the fan zone will be filled with football fun, activities and giveaways on top of the hill.

Access to the ground is via Gate 1 (Barkly St) or Gate 3 (Cross St).

Enjoying the best of the West

This season, a special pop-up market on Spurling Reserve will provide the opportunity for you to peruse some local vendors and score free giveaways from our partners.

If you’re hungry, western suburbs institution ALFA has taken up residence in both our new café and match-day pavilion, serving a range of dine-in or takeaway options. On gamedays, our food offerings double with a rotating schedule of food trucks offering deliciously diverse fare.

Pancake Parlour's Pancake Pocket also returns, serving cups of mini pancakes with various toppings from our match day pavillion.  

Plus, we’re fortunate to be in the west where you can find any type of food or bar to curb your cravings within walking distance – from Vietnamese, Chinese, Ethiopian, Italian or your standard pub meal. Take your pick as you stroll down Barkly Street, or head towards Seddon pre or post-game.
