A five-time All Australian and five-time Charles Sutton Medallist, Marcus Bontempelli continues to establish himself as one of the competition’s premier midfielders. Taken with pick number four in the 2013 National Draft, Bontempelli made his AFL debut in Round 5, 2014. The former Northern Knight is proficient around the contest, has a damaging left foot and possesses the ability to hit the scoreboard. He was also a key member of the Club’s 2016 drought-breaking premiership. In 2020, Bontempelli was elevated to captain, and a year later claimed the AFLPA MVP Trophy, Best Captain award, and named vice-captain of the All Australian side. He also finished runner-up in the 2021 and 2023 Brownlow Medal count.
