Easton Wood is an athletic, intercept-marking defender who has the ability to play on a range of different opponents. Debuting in 2009, injury restricted Wood to just 45 games in his first five seasons but has since gone on to achieve the 150-game milestone in 2019. Wood enjoyed a standout season in 2015 playing 22 games and achieving All Australian honours for the first time. He also claimed the Charles Sutton Medal that same year. He captained the Bulldogs to their drought-breaking premiership in 2016 in the absence of Bob Murphy, and continued as skipper for the following three seasons. A cornerstone of the red, white and blue defence under coach Luke Beveridge, the 31-year-old put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension late last year, making him a Bulldog for life.
