The Western Bulldogs VFLW side have secured their fifth consecutive win, defeating Essendon by six points on Sunday afternoon at Henry Turner Reserve.
AFLW premiership Bulldog Deanna Berry booted the Dogs’ first of the day, before Annabel Scott and Ellie Blackburn made their impact on the scoreboard during the second term, with one major each.
A quiet third term saw Essendon kick the only goal of the quarter, handing the travelling side a two point lead at the final break.
Full forward Mickayla Ward proved handy around goal, booting two majors in the final minutes, helping the Dogs secure the six point victory over the Bombers.
Debutante Simone Reudin showed positive signs in her first game for the Club, while defender Libby Birch proved strong in the back line. Midfielders Naomi Ferres and Sarah Jolly enjoyed another strong performance, making their way onto the best afield list.
The Western Bulldogs will take on Williamstown next Saturday in a VFL curtain raiser game, from 11:30am at Williamstown Oval.
