The Footscray Bulldogs have secured their first victory of the 2018 VFL season, defeating Coburg by 81 points on the back of five goals from Tom Boyd and 31 possessions from Lukas Webb.
In a tightly faught contest in wet and windy conditions, the 'Scray managed to take control of the ball early, while the travelling side were let down by their inaccuracy.
Boyd was instrumental in the forward line, booting five second half goals, including a patch of three in ten minutes, and hauled in six marks.
Midfielder Pat Lipinski was slick in wet conditions roved and took a key mark inside-50 in the second term, and booted two first half goals.
Jordan Roughhead, Tom Campbell and Boyd shared ruck duties equalling 102 hit outs between them. Roughead performed well all over the ground, racking up 20 disposals, while Campbell was one of the Dogs better players looked comfortable in the midfield and booted 2 goals..
The Bulldogs take on Geelong next Saturday at GMHBA Stadium.
