This Christmas, help spread the Christmas cheer through the Bulldogs Wishing Tree. The Western Bulldogs will be collecting gifts to be donated to the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation’s Ready, Settle, Go! Program. All items will be given to young people (5-12 years old) from a migrant and refugee background currently supported by the Ready SETTLE Go programs.
The Ready SETTLE Go program offers a range of community focused health education, leadership, youth and employability programs through meaningful partnerships and referral pathways with organisations and services in the West. Participants develop a strong connectedness to the Australian culture, through participation in recreational sports. Their settlement journey is facilitated by understanding and using the English language and jargon of Australian sports. Each year, thousands of children throughout Australia are unable to receive a Christmas gift due to a variety of barriers including financial hardship or being separated from family. Your donation to the Bulldogs Wishing Tree will go towards safeguarding every participant in a Western Bulldogs Community Foundation social inclusion and diversity stream program receives a gift this holiday season.
If you would like to donate to the Bulldogs Wishing Tree, please place your gift at the Bulldogs Christmas Tree located in Barkers Café at VU Whitten Oval between Friday 1 December – Saturday 16 December 2017.
Ideas of gifts to donate are;
- Children’s books
- Toys (no electrical)
- Clothing
- Stationary
- Sporting equipment
Please note: to ensure hygiene and safety, all items must be brand new and in an unused condition. Toys must be unopened and in manufacturers’ packaging or with tags attached and must meet the Australian Safety Standards.
