Western Bulldogs’ defender Jason Johannisen has undergone surgery today after dislocating his AC joint on Saturday against the GWS Giants.

Medical Services Manager Andrew McKenzie said the pacey 20 year-old had been cleared of any neck problems, but his shoulder injury will see him sidelined for the remainder of the season.

“His neck was cleared on the day, so we were comfortable with that but he has dislocated his AC joint on his right side, which has required surgery,” McKenzie said.

“He has had [surgery] this afternoon and that will leave him out for the rest of the year.”

In more promising news from the medical room, Easton Wood is poised to make his return to football this weekend after spending an extended period rehabilitating and strengthening a reoccurring hamstring injury.

“Easton has been training for a couple of weeks now and he’s done some really big sessions and got through them really well,” he said.

“[Wood] will be back in the mix.”
