The Western Bulldogs can boast a clean bill of health after Saturday’s clash against the Gold Coast, with no further injuries coming out of the weekend.
Medical Services Manager Andrew McKenzie said no additional injuries were sustained in the round eight match, while Tory Dickson, Easton Wood and Lin Jong were progressing well in their rehabilitation.
“We’ve got the usual bumps and bruises but no major injuries and nothing that will keep anyone out for any length of time,” McKenzie said.
Dickson is making strides towards his footballing return and is beginning to incorporate kicking and skills back into his training program as he continues to strengthen his ankle.
“He’s running really well, he’s out on the track, he’s kicking the football, he’s doing his agility and look, we hope to get him back in the training group fairly soon,” he said.
After enduring a fractured fibia in round two of the VFL, Lin Jong is also advancing in his rehabilitation program.
“We have re-x-rayed him recently which showed good healing, he’s out of the boot and walking around so that’s a bonus for him,” he said.
A reoccurring hamstring niggle has seen the Bulldogs taking a cautionary approach with Easton Wood, however he too is working hard towards his recovery.
“He’s strengthening well and he’s progressing reasonably, he started running outside last week so we are happy with that progression so far,” he said.
